Im Bericht The Indo-Pacific: An Enlarged Perspective wird nun eine “Indo-Pazifische Vertragsorganisation” gefordert: „Today, has the time come for the development of a new maritime order – a kind of ‘Indo-Pacific Treaty Organisation’? To envisage it in its ideal geopolitical form: bridgeheads in South Korea and Vietnam, moated aerodromes in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Australia, and an aggregation of industry and agriculture in India and the United States, supported further by France and the UK. Such a coalition might be a distant prospect given the countries concerned, but it may be the only way to deter China’s revisionist activity and uphold an Indo-Pacific that is both open and free.” (jw)
