Dem deutschen Panzerbauer gelang über einen Aufkauf großer Teile der Fahrzeugsparte von BAE ein Einstieg ins britische Geschäft: “BAE Systems has agreed to sell a 55 per cent stake in its UK-based combat vehicles business to Germany’s Rheinmetall for £28.6m as part of a wider agreement to form one of Europe’s largest military vehicle companies. […] AE said the intent of the venture, to be called Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land, is to ‘play a major role in the delivery of the British Army’s new Mechanised Infantry Vehicle and other strategic combat vehicle programmes’.” (jw)
