Schon Anfang März erschien der Bericht “Today We Shall All Die” von Human Rights Watch. Er dokumentiert das vermutlich willentliche Versagen des afghanischen Justizsystems, schwerste Menschenrechtsverletzungen zu verfolgen und die Verantwortlichen anzuklagen. „Afghans continue to suffer serious human rights abuses by government and military officials and their agents. Perpetrators are rarely held to account and the victims are rarely able to gain legal redress. This impunity hinges on the inability or unwillingness of the Afghan government and its institutions, including the military, police, and courts, to challenge the strongmen and militias who operate throughout much of the country.“ (jw)
