Nachdem mit dem JEDI-Projekt ein erster Versuch zum Aufbau eines militärischen Cloud-Systems scheiterte, wird nun an einer „Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability“ herumgetüftelt, was laut defensenews.com noch in diesem Jahr zur Vergabe eines milliardenschweren Auftrags führen soll: „‚As we’ve gotten into this and leaned into it with four vendors, we recognized that our schedule was maybe a little too ahead of what we thought, and that now we’re going to wrap up in the fall. And we’re aiming to award in December,‘ [Chief Information Officer] Sherman said during a March 29 briefing. Sherman also revealed that JWCC could be worth up to $9 billion.“ (jw)
