Five Eyes: Japan?

(26.08.2020)

Der Spionageverbund „Five Eyes“ setzt sich bislang aus den USA, Großbritannien, Australien, Neuseeland und Kanada zusammen. Die früher einmal relativ progressive Asia Times plädiert nun dafür, Japan von einem Kooperationspartner zu einem Vollmitglied zu machen: „Japan wants into the so-called Five Eyes intelligence-sharing alliance between the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It already cooperates with the Five Eyes, but that’s not the same as being a club member. […] It [adding Japan] would also show the alliance is based on common values, not – as some try to deride it – common language or ancestry.” (jw)
