(IMI-Aktuell 2019/471): Wenig ist in der Presse über die massiven Repressionen gegen die französische Gelbwesten-Bewegung zu lesen (siehe ausführlich IMI-Analyse 2019/12). Eine Ausnahme macht nun Politico mit einem Bericht über die verheerenden Auswirkungen von Gummigeschossen: „Since the first Yellow Jackets protest last November, 24 people have been blinded in one eye and 283 sustained other head injuries as a result of police weapons, mostly LBD-fired bullets, according to David Dufresne, an independent journalist who keeps count of the injuries for the news site Médiapart. […] ‚Sixty people lost an eye to police violence in the last 20 years, 24 of them since November,” Dufresne said. “That’s a third in six months.‘“ (jw)
