NATO = Frontex?

(06.06.2017)

Die NATO führt schon heute Einsätze durch, die zumindest auch der Migrationsbekämpfung dienen. Angesichts von Aussagen von US-Präsident Donald Trump wird im EUobserver unter dem Titel „Will Nato become a transatlantic Frontex?“ spekuliert, ob diese Rolle künftig ausgebaut werden könnte: During his speech, Trump commented that ‘the Nato of the future must include a great focus on terrorism and immigration’. […] By establishing a clear link between terrorism and migration in his speech, Trump qualified migration as a major security threat that requires joint military action in order to be mitigated.” (jw)
