Es ist schon wieder einige Zeit vergangen, seit die französische Armee in Mali Anfang des Jahres eine Hochzeitsgesellschaft bombardiert und zahlreiche Opfer verursacht hatte (siehe IMI-Standpunkt 2021/003). Der nun erschienene ausführliche Bericht „France’s Shadow War in Mali: Airstrikes at the Bounti Wedding” von Stoke White Investigations erhebt in diesem Zusammenhang schwere Vorwürfe gegen die französische Armee: „We believe that it is highly likely that the drone-led airstrikes against the wedding in Bounti have infringed the laws of war by ignoring or failing to comply with the principle of distinction between combatants and civilians, or the principle of proportionality by killing civilians to attain a military advantage.” (jw)
