USA: Zivile Kriegsvorbereitungen

Nachdem Schweden kürzlich mit einer Broschüre seiner Bevölkerung Verhaltenstipps im Kriegsfall (mit Russland, auch wenn es nicht völlig offen gesagt wurde) mit auf den Weg gab (siehe IMI-Aktuell 2018/321), haben nun  auch die USA ein neues „Duck-and-cover-Programm“ namens „Reinventing Civil Defense“ aufgelegt. Politico beschreibt das Vorhaben folgendermaßen: „The mission: Tell you what to do in the event of a nuclear crisis. […] The original version of civil defense (also known as Duck and Cover, after its famed guidance to schoolchildren to protect themselves from a nuclear attack by ducking under their school desks when they saw the tell-tale flash outside) is often remembered as silly and misleading—particularly the impression it gave about how easy it would be to survive a full-scale nuclear war.“ (jw)
