Parallel zu den Plänen, ein NATO-Logistikhauptquartier zu schnelleren Verlegefähigkeit nach Osteuropa aufzubauen (siehe IMI-Aktuell 2017/675), wird schon länger unter dem Begriff „Militär-Schengen“ über EU-Beiträge zur „Verbesserung“ von Truppentransporten und ähnlichem diskutiert (siehe IMI-Aktuell 2017/465). Augengeradeaus weist in diesem Zusammenhang auf die neue kürzlich veröffentlichte Mitteilung der EU-Kommission „Improving Military Mobility in the European Union“ hin, die vor allem einen konkreten Zeitplan für Vorschläge vorlegt: „[T]he rapid and swift movement of military personnel and equipment across the EU is currently hampered by a number of physical, legal and regulatory barriers […]. By March 2018, the High Representative and the Commission will submit an Action Plan on Military Mobility for Member States’ endorsement. This plan will build upon the results of the European Defence Agency’s Ad Hoc Working Group on Military Mobility and will propose recommended actions, implementing actors and ambitious timelines on how to address identified barriers hampering military mobility within the European Union.“ (jw)
